What happens if I end up with a rooster?
We have a ROOSTER REASSURANCE, meaning that if you end up with a rooster we will gladly take it back and replace it with another available pullet of equal or lesser value. Roosters must be brought back to the farm in Bloomfield by the customer.
Do you provide feed?
We have organic Stonehouse Grain chick starter available for sale
- 10 lbs for $12
- 25 lbs for $25
- 50 lbs for $40
Organic Stonehouse chick grower and layer feed are available for $40 for 50 lbs. Chicken scratch grains also available on request in 50 lb bags.
We also have feeders, waterers and pine shavings available for purchase as well. Pine Shavings are $12/bag. Large feeders are $15. Metal Waterer for Mason Jar is $5. Metal Feeder for Mason Jar is $7. Mason Jars $2 ea.
Do you offer delivery for chick orders?
No, sorry. We no longer offer delivery.
What is the best way to pay?
We accept payment in cash, paypal, or venmo
How do I know what location to pick up at?
Your pick up location, either at the farm or at the home chick brooder, will be emailed to you at minimum 1 week before your scheduled pick up.
Should I bring a box or crate to pick up the chicks?
We will provide your chicks in a cardboard box. If you have any large boxes, we will gladly take them for the next customer.
What days and times are pickups usually scheduled for?
Both Daniel and Kassie have full time day jobs. Therefore, most pickups will be scheduled for nights or weekends.
Will my pickup be confirmed in advance?
Customers will receive an email from Kassie (kassie@the4fivefarm.com) approximately 1 week before scheduled pickup with information and confirmation.
Is there a minimum order amount?
Minimum order is three chicks from each hatch date. Having a friend ensures the health of the birds. Breeds can be mixed and matched.
Do my chicks have to be the same age?
We recommend that when purchasing chicks under 5 weeks old they be with other chicks the same age, as they get older it is easier to mix age groups.
Do you have bantams?
We do NOT currently raise bantams or silkies as they usually cannot be sexed at hatching (without a DNA test) and they are too small to mix with our laying flock.
